About Ellie McCutcheon

Ellie is a Part 107 FAA-certified remote pilot specializing in aerial storytelling techniques for documentary filmmakers. She loves setting up a scene in the most cinematic of ways, but is also always looking to move beyond the classic establishing shot.

Ellie picked up a drone because – as an active outdoors person – dramatic landscapes have always moved her. She has found that, for her, aerial perspectives are the best way to share that elevated feeling that comes with climbing a mountain or navigating a canyon. Ellie also strongly believes that aerial photos and videos are some of the most important tools for documenting and communicating the most dramatic effects of our rapidly changing environment.

The drones Ellie works with are the Mavic 2 Pro and the Inspire 2 with Zenmuse X7 camera, as either a single or dual operator system
